About me & contact

Page

Unprepared mother is a 32(ish) year old lawyer living in North London with my husband (the Turk) and 10 month old son (at the time of writing anyway…but they do grow…) Jem.

Not many big events so far in my life until a couple of years ago when we got married – excellent day, lots of planning and stress but well worth it. Β Then we decided to buy a “renovation project” in North London, selling our gorgeous 1 bed flat and buying a house. Β Great idea…although we shortly after became pregnant, that’s been interesting. Β I thought I would share with you some of the highs and lows of pregnancy and raising a baby in a building site.

I love to chat with anyone who will listen so do check out my pages on Facebook and Twitter @unpreparedmum or email me at adventuresofanunpreparedmother@outlook.com.

  1. Yes, babies and renovations πŸ˜€ We gutted our bathroom and kitchen when I was 5 months pregnant and working full time. We didn’t have a bathroom for a month so I showered at work! Carrying everything with me every day – towel, shampoo, styling products, etc. πŸ˜€ I know what you went through. It’s a crazy process but feels sweeter at the end. πŸ™‚ Cheers!

    • Ha glad to know I’m not alone, I was really stuck when my maternity leave started and couldn’t shower at work any more, I joined a gym just for the showers, you should have seen the looks I got, luckily we got a temporary shower fitted just after my due date…

Now that renos are done, it’s so nice to enjoy our new bathroom and kitchen. It feel like the whole ordeal and inconvenience was well worth it πŸ™‚
        Enjoy yours too πŸ™‚

      • Ahhh yes… it takes time. We still have small details to do and it’s been over 2 years 😦 But when you think about it, it never ends πŸ˜€ There’s always something you want to add or re-finish πŸ™‚ Good luck!
